What Is Positive Intelligence (PQ) and why i incorporate pq in my coaching?

 


What is Positive Intelligence?

Positive Intelligence® (PQ) was developed by Shirzad Chamine—Stanford lecturer and New York Times bestselling author of Positive Intelligence.

It is a science-based framework for strengthening your mental fitness—your ability to handle life’s challenges with clarity, calm, and focus instead of being hijacked by stress, self-doubt, or negativity.

PQ helps you:

  • Reduce stress and overwhelm
     
  • Quiet the inner critic (“Saboteurs”)
     
  • Activate your wiser, calmer “Sage” brain
     
  • Build lasting habits that align with your health and life goals
     

What is Mental Fitness?

Mental fitness is your capacity to shift from negative thought patterns to positive responses.
Just like physical fitness builds strong muscles, mental fitness builds strong, resilient neural pathways.

When your mind is fit, you can:

  • Navigate setbacks with resilience
     
  • Improve relationships with yourself and others
     
  • Make lifestyle changes that actually last
     

What Are Saboteurs?

Saboteurs are the automatic negative voices in your mind that generate stress, guilt, procrastination, perfectionism, and self-criticism. They can make even small challenges feel overwhelming.

The first step in PQ is identifying your Saboteurs so you can intercept them before they take over.



What Is the Sage?

Your Sage is the calm, wise, creative part of your brain.
When activated, it helps you:

  • Stay grounded under stress
     
  • See opportunities in challenges
     
  • Respond with empathy and clarity
     
  • Take action from love, not fear
     

The PQ program trains you to strengthen your Sage powers every day.


How Does the PQ Program Work?

The PQ journey begins with a 7-week foundation where you:

  1. Learn to catch your Saboteurs in real time
     
  2. Strengthen Self-Command through short daily practices
     
  3. Activate your Sage to shift challenges into opportunities
     

After the foundation, you continue with ongoing practices and app modules to apply PQ in areas like stress, wellness, relationships, parenting, and leadershipWhat is PQ.

Living with or at risk for Type 2 Diabetes can feel overwhelming. PQ gives you the mental tools to:
